Just another March

The Million Man March happened last weekend.  It was nice to see that many of our people together. It was very nice to see our people come together for a good cause.  It was even nicer hearing Minister Louis Farrahkan speak on a variety of issues.

But now what?

Where do we go from here? What do we do now? What does justice or else mean? Where's the direction? Where is the plan? Was this just another pep rally?

If you've been fallowing my blog, then you know that I am not a big fan of marches. Mainly because we have been doing them for the past 50 years and it really gets nothing accomplished. Especially a march with no plan.  I think its great for moral and all, but is that enough? Was this march just another way to pacify the cries and anger of black people to make sure we stay passive and docile? Im all for positivity, but is now the time to be holding peaceful marches?

I really really hope this isn't just another march. It already didn't get a lot of media coverage.  And our attention spans are so short its horrible. There's always new news. Bold, exciting, attention stealing news. Can we keep this momentum going?

Here's an idea: Lets stop spending unnecessary money. Lets boycott like they did back in the day. I say lets do a Black Business Friday instead of black Friday. Only shop at black businesses this Black Friday. Let our dollar do the talking. Lets get organized. If we don't, we won't ever get whatever it is we want.

But I can see the Million Man March being a way to get everyone on the same page. But whatever.......
